Today I am pleased to introduce a new cardstock called “Strathmore Premium Cambric” and the colour is called “Ultimate White”
At first glance, it looks quite similar to our good old Versa Linen Brilliant White, so I thought I would put them both to the test to see which one I prefer.
How are they similar? Well, they are both 270gsm and have a linen-like texture. However the similarities stop there. I found that the colour of Strathmore Premium Cambric is brighter than that of the Versa Linen cardstock. It also feels a bit thicker, even though they are both classed at 270gsm. The linen texture is also more subdued than the Versa Linen, so if you love lots of texture then Versa Linen is the one for you. However, when I began test prints, I noticed that it just glided through the laser printer and there was high toner coverage compared to the Versa Linen.
After going through the inkjet printer, I noticed that both cards had similar bleed. The main difference with printing on the Strathmore, is that the printed colours did look more vibrant compared to the Versa Linen.
The bottom line is: If you’re looking for a linen-textured card that works well in a laser printer, then Strathmore Premium Cambric is the one for you! It can be special ordered in 216gsm too.
So I am quite pleased with the introduction of this new range, which comes with matching C6, DL, C5 and square envelopes.
It is currently made to order, but as popularity grows I will continue to stock more of it.
Thanks for reading!
